A cast copper alloy tanged chisel possibly dating from the Late Bronze Age, (1000BC) to the Roman period. The object has a long tang which is square in cross-section and tapers to a curved point. The tange measures 5.29mm in width and 4.93mm thick at the stop ridge and is 26.79mm long. The object would have held the wooden or antler/bone handle. An almost complete lead alloy cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. The seal is of the two disc type joined by an integral central strip and sealed by compressing a central rivet. The front of the seal bears the raised design of the number 10//04. The reverse which is incomplete depicts a crowned shield with a central motif against a horizontally lined field. The object has a mid-grey patina. A complete cast copper alloy needle probably dating to the Roman period, c. AD 200 to 400. The object has an oval cross-section and flattens towards one end where the eye is located. The eye is oval in shape with a groove above and below on both sides. The eye measures 3.43mm in length and 1.04mm in width. The object has a rough mid-green patina and is in good condition. Similar examples were excavated from 3rd and 4th century contexts at Colchester, Crummy (1983: 66 to 67). It can be classified as Crummy's Type 3.

Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the Medieval period c.1100-1500.

A cast copper alloy single loop buckle of Medieval date. The object has an integral forked spacer, the outer copper alloy sheet is missing. The buckle is oval in plan and D-shaped in cross-section with a lipped frame. The pin remains attached to the strap bar. File marks are visible on the spacer and it has a dark brown patina. A similar example can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p37, no.215 and has been dated to c.1350-1450.

A complete late Medieval - early Post Medieval lead alloy spoon, dating late 15th - 16th century. The spoon has a fig shaped bowl leading to a hexagonal stem which is separate. Within the bowl of the spoon is a maker's mark consisting of the initials H R below which is a beaded circle, within which is a shamrock with the date 171(1) below, (facing the initials). The stem measures 106.27mm in length, 7.95mm in width, 6.85mm thick and is 29.5g. The bowl measures 65.82mm in length, 50.75mm in width, 3.34mm thick and is 30.1g. It has a greyish brown patina.

The zoomorphic head was cast three-dimensionally with a tongue-like projection above which is a depression, and two long ears curving over the head. The object consists of a rectangular band from which projects three sub-rectangular sectioned 'arms' which expand into three conjoined ovals. The voids between each 'arm' forms openwork decoration. The oval projections are decorated with moulded cross-hatching. The outer face of the object is gilded while the internal face is undecorated. It is curved in profile. The exact function of this object is unknown however the style and gilding suggest a 16th century date.

An almost complete cast copper alloy stud dating from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period. The head of the object is circular in plan and slightly domed. It measures 11.98mm in diameter. The stud has a rectangular sectioned pin or shank which tapers to a point. The object has a dark green patina. Due to the lack of decoration and features and the functional nature of these studs they are difficult to date accurately.

A small copper alloy belt fitting of probable late medieval to post-medieval date (c. AD 1400-1650). The object is composed of a single rectangular plate of copper alloy that folds over on itself to create a loop at one end with a single rivet to hold it in place. The rivet has a diameter of 1.66mm. A cast copper alloy strap end dating to the Medieval period, (AD 1066-1500). The object is rectangular in plan and cross-section. The strap end consists of a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded widthways and secured at the open end with a single rivet. Within the strap end traces of a white material can be seen. The rivet is dark grey in colour and has a diameter of 2.99mm. The object has a mid green patina and can be dated from c.1150-1450. Similar examples can be found in Egan and Pritchard, (1991), p125-131.

A cast copper alloy ring of uncertain date. The object is oval in plan and trapezoidal in cross-section. The surface of the object is worn and uneven. File marks are visible on each face. One side of the object is thinner due to wear against another connection. Plain rings of such proportions have often been suggested to be Medieval or Post-Medieval harness rings (Geake 2001, 74), though they are typically un-diagnostic. It has a dark green patina.

A cast copper alloy single loop buckle of Medieval date. The object is D-shaped in plan and oval in cross-section. The object has a narrowed and offset strap bar. Either end of the strap bar is a decorative rounded knop. The pin is missing. There is no visible decoration on the buckle frame. It has a dark green patina which is pitted with corrosion in places. Similar examples can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p19, which have been dated from c.1250-1500.

The outer frame is decorated with five moulded ridges at each end in a scallop-shell design. The sides of the frame are decorated with a rounded knop either end of the spindle with a double ridge to either side. The incomplete pin and chape remain attached. The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition. A similar example can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p99, no.616.

A cast copper alloy Colchester one-piece Late Iron Age to early Roman brooch dating to AD 25-60. The wings are sub-rectangular in plan and trapezoidal in cross-section. The wings are undecorated. The undecorated bow extends from the wings tapering in width towards the complete foot which is rounded. The bow is oval in cross-section and is faceted. At the rear of the bow, transverse file and hammering marks are visible. In the centre of the object is a drilled hole with an internal diameter of 9.61mm. The object has a light brown patina and is undecorated.
