An incomplete double looped copper alloy buckle of early post-medieval date (c. AD 1550 - 1650). Only one half of one end of the buckle frame remains, the pin and strap bar are also missing. The D-shaped loop is decorated with an acorn shaped knop on which traces of gilding remain. The remaining sides of the buckle frame are undecorated. The rear of the object is concave and undecorated. The buckle has a mid-green patina. Dimensions: 25mm in length, 27mm in width, 3mm thick, 5.7g. A parallel for this buckle is illustrated by Ross Whitehead, who suggests a date of mid-16th to mid…

A copper-alloy punch or chasing tool, possibly for decorating metal or leather, probably dating from the post-Medieval period. The object tapers in width from the centre to each end and is rectangular in cross-section. One end, the tang, is squared off and worn. The opposite, working, end tapers to a rounded point and has a smooth dark black patina. Separating each end of the object is a central rounded collar. The face of the object depicts a heart pierced by two arrows in saltire, surmounted by a crown. A large flint core of early Mesolithic or early Neolithic date. The core is cylindrical with one platform and parallel striking of narrow blades. One face of the object has narrower scars from blade removal while on the opposite face wider blades have been removed down the length of the core with shorter narrower blades removed from above (towards the striking platform) at a diagonal angle to the lower removals. An incomplete copper alloy finger ring of post-medieval date, (c. 1650-c. 1850). The bezel is oval in plan with tapering shoulders. The remains of the hoop is D-shaped in cross-section and terminates with a worn break each side of the bezel. The bezel is decorated with a circular grooved border within which there is a low-relief initial of E and C. Between each initial is a vertical foliate-like motif. The object has a dark green patina. The cap is sub-rectangular in plan and pyramidal in form with curved upper faces. It is hollow on the underside. At each corner of the object is a circular pierced lug which would have held a rivet for attachment. Only two of the four survive intact. There is no hole at the apex.
