Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Kent
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A Copper alloy fragmet of uncertain date. The fragment forms the junction between a loop and a bar, both of which features are missing from old breaks. The Junction is decorated with three concentric bands, each overlapping the one below it. These bands have been decorated with incised diagonal lines. The same design appears to continue around the outside of the loop. The fragment is reminisant of the juctoin between the loop and the shank on a medieval key, but it appears too elaborate and is too fragmenty to indentfy what object it is with any certainty.

A fragment of a white metal blade of uncertain date. The fragment is rectangular in plan, 22.2mm long and 13.5mm wide. It is rectagular in profile for half of its width(4.3mm thick) before sloping at 45 degrees to form a triangular profile (1.01mm thick). The slope creats a thinner cutting edge along one side of the possible blade. It is unclear what metal the object is made from. Barry Agar and Ben Roberts both suggest that the object is too fragmentery to be diagnostic.
