Cast copper-alloy dragonesque brooch. Roman, c. AD 75-175. Mass: 9.61 g; length: 40.4mm; width: 23.4mm; depth: 5mm. The brooch is S-shaped in plan with a head at one end and break at the neck at the other end. The pin is missing. The front of the plate is slightly convex and the reverse is slightly concave. The front of the brooch is decorated; with blue champlevé enamel remaining in two lines of lozenges in the centre, flanked by blue enamelled curvilinear designs with orange dots. The vessel has a pinched lip and a spiral decoration on the inside of the base. Mass: 29.4mm; rim diameter: 47.4mm (excluding the lip); height: 25.9mm. The vessel is complete other than a small chip near to the lip.

The object consists of an oval plate with a central sub-circular perforation attached to a hoop which is now broken and distorted. The hoop has a sub-D shaped cross section which is flatter internally. The plate is flat with a rectangular cross section. The object has a pitted brown/green surface. The break in the hoop is not recent. The precise date and function of the object are unclear.

Cast copper-alloy brooch. Late Iron-Age or Roman, c.1st – 2nd century AD. Incomplete. Mass: 4.9g; width: 7.3mm; length: 58.8mm. The find consists of a circular sectioned tapering bow which curves backwards towards the heavily corroded foot. At the top of the bow, the brooch is incomplete, but the stubs of side wings remain indicating that the brooch would originally have been T-shaped in plan.
