Cast copper alloy enamelled Wirral brooch. Length: 37mm, width: 12mm, depth: 15mm, mass: 6.3g. Roman period (1st-2nd C AD). The front of the head is stepped and decorated with incised zig-zag lines. Cast-copper-alloy buckle frame. Medieval. Mass: 3.3g; width: 17.1mm; length: 20.8mm; thickness: 4.6mm. Frame has slightly convex sides with a ridge near each corner; thick outside edge with a central filed pin-rest on the front with two filed grooves to either side; bar offset and narrowed; traces of a possible white-metal coating, particularly on the reverse of the outside edge. Cf. no. 439, "Dress Accessories 1150-1450", Egan and Pritchard, 2002, p. 96 and fig. 61, although no. 439 has a plate (from a context dated c.1350-c.1400).

Cast copper-alloy strap end of Late Early Medieval dating (AD 1030 to AD 1100). Mass: 11g, length: 54.5mm, width: 20.0mm, depth: 9.5mm. The object has a broadly flat ?zoomorphic lobed terminal, decorated with incised grooves on the front, adjoining a moulding with a flaring pierced projection at right angles to the plane of the terminal. There is also the stub of a broken second, parallel, projection, with a slot between the two. Perhaps a tang or a similarly slim attachment was held between projections within the slot, secured by a ?rivet, cf. SF-E825A7.

Cast copper-alloy hinged mount. Medieval or post-medieval. The mount consists of two straps which are joined by a pin through pivot loops. The pin is held within the loop which is formed by bent back double lugs, and this secures the second pivot loop which is cast in one. There is a perforated expansion at the other end of each strap. The hinged mount has a heavily corroded surface, but traces of gilding remain on the front. Mass: 2.1g; length: 38.8mm; width: 9.3mm; thickness (cast loop): 4.2mm.

Cast copper-alloy mount, Urnes style decoration, c. 11th century. Mass: 32.2; width: 37.7mm; length: 21.2mm; depth: 20.3mm. The mount has a U-shaped cross section with a circular perforation in the top. The exterior is decorated with three interlaced animals in high relief within a raised border. The animals have ring and dot eyes, open mouths, and one appears to have a wing folded on its back, decorated with incided grooves. The bottom edges of the mount are straight but the sides are notched and grooved. The mount is plausibly from a sword pommel.

The S-shaped fastener is in the form of two curving swan's heads joined with a transverse decorated band in the middle of the S.
