A cast copper alloy, post-medieval dress fastening c. 16th – 17th century.  Read Class E, Type 3. A pierced rectangular frame with raised outer edges and central pellets within a raised ‘V’ ridge, and a collar at the junction of the hook and plate.  The attachment loop and most of the hook are missing. The object has a pale brown/green patina, and measures: - 21mm long. Class E, Type 3. See Read 2008, p. 104, Nos. 402 and 403.

A complete cast silver Roman ring with an oval cornelian in the bezel c. 3rd century AD. The loop has prominent angles/keels, above are triangular shoulders. The ring aperture is slightly ovoid, with a ‘D’ shaped profile. The oval cornelian sits within a broadly octagonal bezel (17.8mm x 15mm). The charioteer is driving a biga (a two-horse chariot) to the left, and is more unusual, depicting Cupid rather than the more commonly found Victory variation. A cast copper alloy figurative mount dating from the late 13th century to the 16th century (c. AD 1250 – 1500). The mount is in the form a pinecone or zoomorphic creature with a projecting stalk or snout. The sides of the mount are trapezoidal, narrowing to a ‘stump’ at the bottom with a raised circular top. An incomplete undecorated copper alloy sub-rectangular strap end dating from the mid-13th century to 16th century (c. AD 1250 – 1500). There is a single rivet in situ, one side of the object has lost much of the plate, and it terminates with a small central knop. The surface has a mid-green patina. Dimensions – length = 21mm, width = 11.8mm 11mm. See Egan and Pritchard (1997:142) Nos 659 and 669 or Plate 93. Probably belonging to Cassels 3.2b.

A medieval heraldic enamelled shield mount c. AD1300 – 1500. The shield has the remnants of an enamelled heraldic face, with the remnants of a chevron arrangement.  The tang remains in situ, and appears longer than the standard tang, perhaps to mount at a junction of harness straps?  The surface is heavily eroded and has a very dark green/brown patina. Measurements – height, 15mm, width, 13mm, length of tang, 20mm. NB: the photos were kindly provided by the finder.

An incomplete cast copper alloy, possible Pilgrim piece in the form of a scallop shell mounted on a bar c.
