A cast copper alloy, post-medieval dress fastening c. 16th – 17th century.  Read Class E, Type 3. A pierced rectangular frame with raised outer edges and central pellets within a raised ‘V’ ridge, and a collar at the junction of the hook and plate.  The attachment loop and most of the hook are missing. The object has a pale brown/green patina, and measures: - 21mm long. Class E, Type 3. See Read 2008, p. 104, Nos. 402 and 403.

A cast copper alloy figurative mount dating from the late 13th century to the 16th century (c. AD 1250 – 1500). The mount is in the form a pinecone or zoomorphic creature with a projecting stalk or snout. The sides of the mount are trapezoidal, narrowing to a ‘stump’ at the bottom with a raised circular top. An incomplete undecorated copper alloy sub-rectangular strap end dating from the mid-13th century to 16th century (c. AD 1250 – 1500). There is a single rivet in situ, one side of the object has lost much of the plate, and it terminates with a small central knop. The surface has a mid-green patina. A medieval heraldic enamelled shield mount c. AD1300 – 1500. The shield has the remnants of an enamelled heraldic face, with the remnants of a chevron arrangement.  The tang remains in situ, and appears longer than the standard tang, perhaps to mount at a junction of harness straps?  The surface is heavily eroded and has a very dark green/brown patina. Measurements – height, 15mm, width, 13mm, length of tang, 20mm. NB: the photos were kindly provided by the finder.

A small cast copper alloy Georgian bell/capstan, trade weight c. AD 1714 – 1900. The weight is bell or capstan in form with a cast circular loop atop. The top of the ‘capstan’ has a pair of incised grooves and a single incised groove just above the base, which has a rounded edge. The lower surface is plain and there is now a mottled green/brown patina. Dimensions – Height = 28.44mm, width = 14.6mm, weight = 13gm. See Biggs 1992, page 52, 53 for similar bell weights from the Georgian period.

A cast copper-alloy Bronze Age (early Iron Age) axe fragment c. BC 800 – 600. The fragment consists of a quadrant part of the mouth, the attachment loop and a part of the body, excluding the blade section. The mouth has a double mouth moulding with the feintest trace of a vertical ridge, extending down the front of the casting. The loop is skewed at a slight angle to the vertical and the casting seam has not been removed. A cast copper alloy medieval sword pommel dating to c. AD 1250 – 1400. The pommel falls into the Oakeshott's type I. The pommel is disc- shaped in form and has broad chamfers that widen to the radius of the pommel, from a central flat circular face. It is hollowed to take the sword tang with the lower aperture being 31mm x 11.2mm, and the upper at 11.5mm x 7mm. There are stress like fractures to the corners of the voided attachment socket. An Early Medieval copper alloy zoomorphic strap-end dating to c. AD 750 – 1100. The strap end is possibly a Thomas Class A, Type 2. It is sub-rectangular in shape, tapering to a zoomorphic terminal consisting of an animal's head with ears, eye-ridges and bulbus snout. The attachment end has a pair of rivet holes and has a concave tail like moulding that leads to a decorated panel, down to the snout.
