Obverse with portrait bust left with vague impression of a rose behind, reverse with square-topped shield over cross double-fourchée. The rim is damaged and clipped. A hammered silver sixpence of Charles I c. 1625 - 1649 AD. From the Tower mint under the King [1625-42AD]. Obverse with the Group D, Fourth Bust left and VI behind. Reverse with oval garnished shield and mintmark of a Bell, further refining the date to 1634 - 1635 AD. There are no inner circles. The coin is a little 'wrinkled' with probable clipping to the rim with the central area to both sides, well worn. Diameter 24.7mm, 0.56mm thick and weighs 3.0gm. See S2813

A silver six pence of Elizabeth I c. 1558 - 1603 AD. The obverse has the portrait left with rose behind, reverse with shield over long cross fourchee. The initial mark and the date are stamped over an earlier one. In this instance, 1586 over stamped with 87, over shield. The coin is very worn to the obverse, less so to the reverse with some rim damage. The obverse legend is also muddled at the 'BETH' and the reverse mintmark has a crescent over stamped by a scallop.

The coin is in fair condition with some limited clipping and damage to the rim.

The coin is very worn with only the vestiges of the bust and rose to the obverse and much of the legend to both sides now obscure. There is clipping the rim.
