Thin gold ring, the band misshapen, with plain exterior, the interior inscribed: 'Piety the best monument', with maker's mark TS in a rectangle. It has not proved possible to identify the maker's mark from available sources, and as this is a type which goes on into the second quarter of the 18th century, there is not enough evidence to confirm a pre-1708 date.

A tiny silver ingot, comprising a sub-rectangular bar, of rectangular cross-section, with hammer facets visible on all four lightly concave faces. The ends are complete and rounded. Date: uncertain. The form and general appearance of the object are insufficiently diagnostic to demonstrate a date of more than 300 years old. Therefore, the object does not qualify as Treasure under the terms of the 1996 Treasure Act.

Description: A complete disc brooch with straight-sided rim, made of silver, copper alloy and other as yet unknown materials; the complete pin and catch plate survive intact on the back. While the X-rays are unclear due to corrosion and the presence of the pin, the design figures a central boss set with white calcitic material (possibly shell or cuttlefish) within a series of broader and narrower bands.
