6 flint waste flakes dating from the Neolithic to Bronze Age. The largest of the group is a core rejuvination flake measuring 56.19mm x 25.08mm x 11.60mm (14.29g). The remainder of the group measure betwen 28.56 x 8.98 x 6.92mm (1.54g) and 39.85 x 30.10 x 8.14mm (12.63g). The total weight of the assemblage is 45.83g.

A small flint core possibly dating from the Neolithic. The surfaces have become re-patinated to a blueish-white colour. These surfaces have been damaged recently in a number of places to reveal the dark-greenish-grey flint colour beneath. Some of the removals are small and parallel sided suggesting a possible origin in the Neolithic industries. It measures 33.80mm x 32.19mm x 21.18mm and weighs 22.64g.

A large multi-directional flint core possibly dating from the Neolithic. The flint is light greenish-grey in colour and has a small patch of cortex remaining on one side. Some of the removals are small and parallel suggesting a possible origin in the Neolithic industries. It measures 38.38mm x 38.43mm x 33.58mm and weighs 67.04g.

A small base angle sherd from a medieval cooking pot dating from the 11th-12th century AD. The fabric is oxidised patchy orange-brown in colour with a grey internal slip. Inclusions consist of frequent fine rounded quartz (<0.5mm), moderate larger sub-rounded to sub-angular quartz (<2.5mm), occasional angular flint and sub-rounded oolitic limestone (<4mm). Probably of local origin and similar to some Ilchester fabrics. It measures 41.62mm long x 24.28mm wide x 5.78mm thick, and weighs 7.69g.

A Black Burnished Ware rim sherd possibly dating from the 1st century AD. The rim is upright and plain with an internal groove or seating, probably for a lid, and may derive from a Greyhound Yard type 13 round bodied bowl. The fabric is dark grey/black with frequent fine rounded quartz and occasional iron ore and flint (<0.5mm). The surfaces are wiped. It measures 46.54mm long x 30.86mm wide x 6.66mm thick and weighs 14.80g.

A chert gun flint dating from the 17th-19th century. It is approximately square in plan and wedge shaped in section. The ventral surface is flat and the dorsal surface rises into a low wedge shape. It has been re worked on three edges to create the square shape. It measures 28.00mm x 25.62mm x 7.78mm thick and weighs 6.31g.

The external surface is missing. Inclusions consist of occasional fine white particles. The sherd measures 26.08 x 22.39 x 3.38mm thick, although the original thickness of the vessel would have been greater, and weighs 2.33g.

A very small abraded sherd of Roman Mortaria, possibly deriving from the Rhineland region in the 2nd century AD. The fabric is fine but slightly sandy to the touch. It is light orange throughout with a thin slight purplish core. core. Inclusions consist of moderate very fine white mica and occasional iron. The trituration grits are sub angular white and red quartz (<3.5mm). The sherd measures 14.41 x 12.56 x 5.74mm thick and weighs 1.01g.

An abraded base sherd of post-medieval South Somerset ware probably dating from the 17th-18th centuries. The fabric has a light orange core with buff surfaces and margins. Inclusions include frequent very fine quartz (0.1mm), and occasional iron. The surfaces may have originally been glazed (although no trace survives) or wiped. It is probably of Donyatt fabric DPT7 and derives from a vessel with a low pedestal base. The sherd measures 47.56 x 48.19 x 9.36mm thick and weighs 31.57g.

Inclusions include frequent fine quartz, moderate angular flint (<3mm), and occasional iron. The surfaces may have a patchy dark grey slip. It is probably of Greyhound Yard variant fabric 1Bi, possibly deriving from the East Devon/South Somerset region during the 1st-3rd centuries AD. The sherd measures 30.23 x 20.80 x 5.67mm thick and weighs 4.68g.

A large Neolithic-Bronze Age flint waste flake. Although large enough to function as a core, having been removed from its own core it was discarded and not struck again. There is a lot of plough damage around all edges. One facet retains the cortex. The flint is dark grey in colour, with buff patches. It measures 42.94mm long, 39.33mm wide, 30.05mm thick and weighs 51.79g.
