Iron vessel escutcheon of uncertain date The escutcheon is near-complete and comprises a plate and integral loop, and has an overall surviving length of 101.4mm and weighs 55.0g. The plate gradually thins towards its base (2.5mm – 6.9mm) and has a convex profile suggesting it was attached to curved vessel, such as a cauldron. The plate may originally have had a lozenge shape and a rounded break at the base may suggest an attachment rivet hole. Late Iron Age iron bow brooch, possibly of La Tène III type and dated to the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD The brooch is incomplete and is missing the leg and pin, with a surviving length of 37.28mm and a weight of 5.2g. The brooch was of a one-piece construction and made of iron rod of circular section. The spring has four coils with an internal chord (4.3mm diameter), passing beneath the head. The head has a width of 14.61mm. The bow curves gently from the head and is straight along the mid bow. The bow has a maximum surviving diameter of 5.40mm.
