Late Bronze Age socketed axe of South Wales (or Stogursey) Type and dating to the Ewart Park phase of the Late Bronze Age, corresponding with Needham's (1996) Period 7 and dated to c. 950 - 750BC The axe-head is incomplete, missing the mouth on one face, with the face missing a portion. The axe is comparatively small with an overall length of 59.50mm and a weight of 62.4g. The incomplete mouth would have been sub-rectangular (36.32mm x 25.3mm). Copper alloy looped swivel of uncertain date, possibly Roman The fitting comprises two parts (with an overall length of 42.0mm and a weight of 20.2g), a looped peg inside a double-hooked frame with socket. The loop is circular (with a diameter of 19.2mm and an internal diameter of 12.4mm) and is of eroded sub-square section. Beneath the loop is a tapering plug, seemingly cast within a circular socket and is held by two strips, which engage with grooves in the plug. Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Wroxeter sub-type, of 2nd century AD date The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the head and upper bow only (with a surviving length of 19.1mm and a weight of 3.2g). The head is D-shaped (with a width of 13.7mm and a height of 16.5mm) at its base, with a thinner sub-triangular head-plate above. The head-plate is not perforated and has no surviving evidence of a chain loop. A knurled rib separates the head from the head-plate. Roman copper alloy enamelled belt-plate of 2nd to early 3rd century date The belt fitting is fragmentary and is represented by the end of the plate only (with a surviving length of 23.2mm and a weight of 3.7g). The fitting has a projecting circular stud or 'frog' (10.1mm diameter, 2.1mm thick and with a height of 6.7mm above the plate). The outside of the frog was notched but is now eroded.
