Copper alloy inscribed plate, probably of Roman period date
The plate is fragmentary and has a surviving length of 27.5mm surviving height of 20.9mm and a weight of 6.9g. The plate has a thickness of 2.5-2.8mm. The base of the fragment has an original edge, while the other edges are broken. The plate is curved across both its length and height. On the front of the plate is deeply incised lettering and decoration. The letter R is discernible after a ring-and –dot motif. Roman copper alloy vessel handle
The handle is incomplete and is broken at one end, with a surviving length of 76.2mm and has a weight of 77.0g. The handle is deeply curved and is of lozenge section, with a thickness at the break of 9.1mm and a width of 7.4mm. At the top of the handle are zoomorphic figures, comprising a bird and horse. Roman copper alloy vessel or furniture leg The leg is complete and has a length of 64.3mm and a weight of 15.7g. The top of the leg has an L-shaped bracket (with a length of 11.2mm and a width of 5.3mm) to support a vessel above. Remnants of a white adhesive or solder are discernible on the surfaces of the bracket. The leg is of sub-lozenge section and has an undulating curve to the foot.
