A complete copper-alloy Roman Colchester double-pin, sprung brooch derivative, dating c:- AD 43 - 320.
It has short undecorated wings, and the spring mechanism plus its pin are intact. The front of the bow has a central short raised rib from its top downwards 25.5mm in length. This is decorated with a double row of a stippled design 3.01mm wide, of small squares along its length. A complete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative, Harlow type, double-pin,sprung brooch, dating c:- AD 43 - 400.
It has short undecorated wings, and the spring mechanism plus its pin are intact. The front of the bow has a raised central rib, decorated with two lines of a small repeated triangular design from its top to its base in high relief, with what appears to be tinned. The catchplate is intact, but undecorated. The brooch is in good condition.
