A fragment of a tobacco clay pipe stem, dating from the Post-Medieval period, c. AD 1650 - 1900. It measures 44.0mm in length, has a diameter of 6.4mm and weighs 2.4gm. It has a maker's name of A.CLEEVER along its side and the city of its manufacture - CAMBRIDGE parallel to it on its opposite side. The piece was found on the surface of the ground "eyes only", while metal-detecting. An Ann Cleever was a member of a family firm of Pipe makers, based in Newmarket Road, Cambridge c. AD 1864. An incomplete post medieval pewter Military button of the Corps of Invalids, Regular Army circa, AD 1793 - 1802 . The button is missing pieces from its rim, and also its iron suspension loop from its back. The front of the button has the following decoration - in its centre an R * I. within the circle of a Garter, topped by a Crown. The button has a diameter of 21.25 mm, is 1.46 mm thick, and weighs 3.5 g.
