Cast copper alloy Late Roman /early Medieval buckle of Hawkes and Dunning Type IIA (1961). Similar in style to the two dolphin type buckles but the front of the buckle is decorated with zig zag lines. The top of the buckle does look like two heads meeting at the lozenge shape at the top but it is plain. The pin is missing. At the base there are two circular loops which would have attached to the buckle plate.

Cast copper alloy Roman lock bolt. The bolt has a narrow handle then the body widens where the cut outs are. The cut outs are 2 rectangules above a square made of 4 triangles. The top of the body of the bolt is an L-shape. Compare no 468, pg77 in the Aldborough excavation report (Bishop 1996) and other examples from Colchester (Crummy 1983, 124, fig. 136, nos. 4133, 4134, 4136).

Medieval circular lead seal matrix, 13th century in date. This is a personal seal matrix with a central motif. The reverse has a circular attachment loop at the end of a raised central ridge. The central motif is of radial type, a four-petalled flower with rounded petals, with trefoils at the end of stems in between the petals.The inscription is set between two very shallow and thin ridged borders, and reads + S' MARG' FIL' hVGO (Seal of Margaret daughter of Hugh). Cast copper alloy sprung Polden Hill bow brooch with folded wing ends of the Eastern Group, dating from 1st century. The pin has broken off just after the spring. The short catchplate is complete. The 10 coil spring is held in place by a rearward facing hook. A pair of flanges is cast at the ends of the wings and closed round the axis bar. The wings are decorated at the ends with grooves which go all around them. The bow is decorated with a central raised line running the whole length. On either side is a groove. The bow narrows towards the foot which is plain.

A Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands) brooch cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.j. Plate 48 dating to AD 80-120. Sprung type with a rearward facing hook. The pin is missing although the spring remains in the springcase due to corrosion. The springcase has capped ends. The ends of the wings have disc-shaped mouldings. The bow is decorated with horizontal grooves in the middle part. The foot consists of 2 circular mouldings.

Anglo Saxon copper alloy small long brooch dating to the 6th century. It is a square headed type and appears mostly free from decoration. There are four circular perforations, one in each corner of the head. One of these holes has broken through to the edge. The catchplate and some of the lug remain but the pin is missing.
