Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL

Cast lead Post Medieval weight. In plan it is sub-triangular with the narrowed end being the top which has a circular perforation used for attachment. It has a rectangular cross-section throughout. The surface is uneven. This sort of weight could have been used for many purposes for many periods and so is difficult to date precisely when found out of context.

Cast lead weight from the Medieval period. Square weight with a central perforation. It is plain with no decoration. It is possible it was used as a spindle whorl rather than a weight.

Post-Medieval weight made from a lead alloy. It is sub-circular with a central circular perforation. On one face there are some marks which could either be writing or a pattern but it is not clear at all. These marks run all the way around the central hole. The function of this object is not totally clear but it is possibly a weight.
