Copper alloy asymmetrical convex mount, probably from horse harness. It has two integral rivets on the back for attachement. The mount is a sub-triangular plate with two steps in the sides and a quatrefoil or lozenge-shaped protrusion at the top. It is very corroded all over and has started to lose some of its original surface. Similar examples can be seen in Read 1995, 183-4; they date broadly to the 17th century.
