I have examined a group of 16 coins reported found at Stapleford, Lincolnshire All of the coins are silver and 14 of them are official English coins, which will therefore be of the traditional sterling standard, over 90% fine metal. Two of the coins are foreign in origin, but are of types found in English contexts quite frequently in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. One is a double patard of Charles the Bold, duke of Burgundy, a coin that from 1469 circulated in England officially as equal to a groat. This was had a fineness of c. 80% silver. Silver Medieval 'fede' finger-ring. The bezel consists of two clasped hands with a crown above. The crown has two circular hollows in, perhaps for a stone/enamel but nothing now remains. The hoop is decorated with an inscribed pattern which consists of; three squares, at equal interval which have an X filling them and three short lines on the inside of each side. In between the squares are two possible leaf-type motifs.

The pendant is oval in plan and rectangular in section, made of four components, two sheets of silver cut in an oval shape, soldered onto the lengths of a rectangular sheet of silver that acts as the siding of the pendant. A fragment of a silver finger ring which is almost completely flattened. Both ends are broken and are uneven. It is plain on the inside with incised decoration on the outside. This consists of a line at the top and the bottom, with a floral/vegetal motif in the centre. It could be that the rest of the ring would have had an inscription on but this is now missing.
