A silver sheet spoon bowl. It is circular in plan, the handle base extends from one edge but only a small section remains. This may have been where the bowl attached to a more solid handle. The bowl is slightly damaged with the edges being a little uneven and there being some dents in the sides.

Record ID: LVPL-EAF641
Object type: SPOON
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Cheshire East
Workflow stage: Published
Silver spoon bowl in two pieces, part of stem surviving. The back of the bowl of the spoon forms the shape of an acorn, with the break occurring at the join between the stylised cupule and nut. In the absence of parallels in the British Museum it is difficult to date the spoon but it is unlikely to be over 300 years old.
The spoon can not be securely dated to pre-1708 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
