Lead weight, possibly Roman in date. It is conical in shape with a rounded top and slightly irregular. The flat edge is the upper face and this has a central depression- possibly where an attachment loop once was. The surface is irregular all over due either to corrosion or poor casting of the weight. It was too heavy for my scales which go up to 200g. It has a length/height of 43.36mm and a diameter of 41.70mm.

Cast lead weight, possibly Roman- Medieval in date. It is conical in shape with a slightly rounded pointed terminal. There is a hole in the base. The surface is uneven and there are some marks where it has been scratched by the plough. There is no sign of an attachment loop so it is unlikely to have been used as a steelyard weight. Weights of this shape and size were used over many periods and so it it difficult to date them more precisely when found out of context.

Impression of the obverse of a coin of Tacitus (275-6) in lead. Obverse: [ ]ITVS AVG (retrograde); [ ], draped and cuirassed bust left (would have been right on the original coin). Note, the beard is clearly visible on the chin and neck. It is not possible to determine if the coin used for the impression was a base silver coin with a radiate crown or a gold aureus with a laureate crown. This is a most unusual piece. Lead or gun-metal cast of a Sestertius of Orbiana, wife of Severus Alexander (222-35AD). Type as RIC IV, pt. 2, p. 122, no. 657. It is hard to say whether this is a contemporary or modern copy. Cast coins were produced in the 3rd century, often called "Limesfalsa", singular "Limesfalsum". However, this piece is apparently not made from copper alloy, but from a lead or zinc based alloy. To make a more considered judgement, the Finds Adviser would need to see this coin.

Possible lid or cap made of lead, probably Roman. The top of the object is circular in plan and there is a raised edge. Inside the raised edge, in relief, is an animal, possibly a cockerel. On the back the edges have folded in on themselves so they would no longer fit as a lid.
