Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate gold content for the strip of 92-94%, with a silver content of 5-6%, the remainder being copper; it weighs 1.57 grams. The find consists of a length of narrow gold strip of triangular section with punched decoration of apex-to-apex triangles along the top ridge; it is broken at both ends; length, 32.5 mm. Gold Post Medieval finger ring, uncertain date. A plain gold band, with a slightly raised central ridge on the outside. The ring has been squashed out of shape but originally but have been round. The band is thin, and flat on the inside. Judy Rudoe (British Museum) has seen an image of this ring and is happy that it is undiagnostic, so cannot be assigned a pre-1700 date. As such it does not constitute Treasure.

Gold finger ring, probably of Roman date. The hoop consists of a narrow band, slightly elliptical in section. The ovoid bezel, which has been soldered onto the hoop, consists of an outer decorative band of beaded wire which surrounds a box setting for stone, now missing. A medieval gold posy ring made from a flat band 4.31mm wide and 0.77mm thick. It is engraved with a black-letter inscription in French which reads Jatens tenir (I wait to hold [you]). A gold Medieval finger-ring, with a circular bezel set with a purple stone. The wire hoop is undecorated and has a circular cross-section. There is a small crack in the hoop but it has not broken and is complete. A very similar example was found and reported in 2004- 2004-T377. Probably 13th century Weighing 0.8g . Diameter of hoop 19mm. The age and precious metal content of this item therefore qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

Heavy gold signet ring, finely engraved with a coat of arms, oriented vertically, within a dotted border. Images of the signet ring were examined by Dr Clive Cheesman, College of Arms, who has provided the following information: 'The ring shows the coat of arms of a family called Prestwich. The coat of arms consists of a shield and, displayed on top of a helmet, a crest. Gold mourning ring. It has been squashed slightly out of shape. It has a central raised ridge running round the outside of the ring, in the centre. This is triangular in cross section and there is a small break at one point, possibly where the bezel once was? On either side of this ridge there was originally black enamel but most of this is now missing, only fragments remain. Inside the ring is an incised inscription reading 'Live well and die well' followed by TS stamped inside a square.

Gold sheet dress hook, probably the covering for a copper alloy dress hook. It consists of a sub- body with a rounded terminal from which projects a thin strip. This strip would have bent over to form the hook but it has broken. The upper part of the main body is bent and has uneven edges and top. The coin is a gold histamenon trachy of the Byzantine emperor Michael VII Ducas (1071-1078), class IId and it weighs 4.17g, at the lower end of the range for examples of this coin. Treasure number- 2008-T658 A Medieval finger-ring formed of a thin hoop, considerably distorted, terminating in a trapezoidal bezel set with a blue stone (probably a sapphire) held by four claws. The finger-ring is gold and dates from the thirteenth century. Dimensions: length 25 mm, width 17 mm. Gold Post-Medieval finger ring from the late 17th/ 18th centuries. The ring is complete and in good condition. It is decorated on the outside and has an inscription on the inside. The exterior decoration consists of raised diagonal ridges which have punched annulets along them in a irregular manner. The inscription inside is either in French or latin but it is hard to work out. The lettering is very stylised and appears to read ' ..... le bleu'.

Gold Post Medieval mourning ring dating to 1727. It is inscribed in the inside of the ring with 'Mary Normandy ob 9 Jan 1727 cet 55' The outside of the ring is highly decorated with black enamel. Firstly there is a skeleton. Below the skeleton is a crossed shovel and pick. Next there is an hour glass. All of these pictures symbolise death and the end of time/life. Below this is an open book with the words 'MEMENTO MORI' written on the 2 pages. This means a memento of death. There is an X below the word MORI which just appears to be to fill space.

A Medieval finger-ring, set with a hexagonal sapphire in a bezel with a pinched border. The shoulders of the ring are divided into three bands. The raised central band is plain, with a rouletted border, which has worn smooth in places. The two side bands are engraved with flowers and leaves, and would originally have been enamelled. Four coins reported found on the site of a previous find of similar coins. These coins are all gold doblas of Peter or Pedro I, King of Castile ('Pedro the Cruel'), who reigned 1350-69. Gold mourning ring dating to 1679. The inside band is inscribed 'Mrs Sarah Doding died 26th Nov 79'. The outside of the band is decorated with engraved designs of a poppy, a rose and a thistle with a black background (in enamel). The bezel consists of a skull and crossbones picked out in white enamel. It is in very good condition and all the detail is very clear. The design is significant of the times and represent certain things. The rose is for England, the thistle for Scotland (and the Stuarts) and the poppy for Holland.
