Copper alloy twisted ring, possibly Viking in date. This ring consists of two pieces of copper alloy wire which have been twisted together. It is now not a full circle having been bent out of shape. Both ends are narrowed almost to a point. There is the remains of gilding on the surface.

Copper alloy Roman finger ring dating to the 2nd century AD.
It has a circular cross section which widens at the bezel. The bezel has a circular hollow which would have held a stone but this is now missing. The ring has a dark brown patina.

Treasure number- 2008-T658
A Medieval finger-ring formed of a thin hoop, considerably distorted, terminating in a trapezoidal bezel set with a blue stone (probably a sapphire) held by four claws.
The finger-ring is gold and dates from the thirteenth century.
Dimensions: length 25 mm, width 17 mm.
Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

Cast copper alloy Medieval stirrup shaped finger ring. This type of ring is dated from the 12-13th century.
The hoop is bent and measures 28mm by 19mm. The bezel is sub-circular and has a diameter of 10mm. It is a large bezel, projecting c.10mm upwards from the hoop. Inside the bezel is a red substance, possibly enamel on which there would have been a design. The design has been worn off and is no longer visible.
Similar items can be seen in the Salisbury Museum catalogue, p.44, nos. 1 and 2. Although these examples are slightly more delicate and pointed.

Cast copper alloy signet ring, Late Medieval in date, 15/16th century. It has a plain hoop which has a circular section. In plan the bezel is sub-oval and is 11mm long. On the bezel there is a possible 'C' or lombardic 't' inside a circle.
