Copper alloy finger ring probably from the early Medieval period.
It has a lozengiform cross-section and tapering ends which overlap. The patina is dark brown and the surface is a little pitted.
Finger-rings of similar size and shape, but with oval or circular cross-sections, have been recorded from Thetford (A. Goodall in Rogerson and Dallas 1984, fig. 110, 17-21), two (nos. 17 and 20) from 10th- or 11th-century contexts. Finger-rings with lozenge-shaped cross-sections are less well understood, and some at least may be quite modern in date

County: Doncaster

Copper alloy Medieval purse hanger. The hanger is complete and is a three arched example formed of a large semicircle flanked by two smaller ones. The ends feature collared expanded terminals.
