A silver Roman denarius of Galba (AD 68-69), dating to the period c.AD 68-69 (Reece period 3). DIVA AVGVSTA reverse type depicting Livia standing left holding patera and sceptre. Mint of Rome Probably as RIC I (2nd ed.), p. 242, no. 186; although cf. p. 240, no. 143.
Description of Coin
Obverse: [...] SER GALBA CAESA[...], Laureate head right.
Reverse: DIV[A] AVGVSTA, Livia standing left holding patera and sceptre.
Discussion
Three silver Roman denarii were reported from a metal detecting rally and thought to be part of a hoard.
