Possible whetstone of unknown date. It is sub-oval in plan with rounded edges. It is a rounded oval in cross-section also with all edges rounded. It is made from a brown-grey stone. There are linear grooves on all the surfaces, possibly caused by sharpening tools. It is difficult to say that this is definitely a whetstone as natural stones could be used for this purpose without much working to make them suitable, this appears to be in that group.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval trade weight, 17/18th century in date. It is circular in plan with a raised edge. These weights are usually stamped with designs to show their weight, age and place of origin. However nothing can be seen on this weight due to corrosion and wear.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval trade weight, dating to 1702-14. It is circular in plan with a raised rim. On the upper surface are stamped the following symbols- A (probably for Queen Anne), a sword (for the City of London) and a ewer (for the Founders Company of London).

The reverse is plain with a slightly raised border. Weights such as this example are numerous and come in many forms. They are difficult to date when found as stray finds.

Lead shield shaped Medieval trade weight. It has a raised design on the front face of a fleur-de-lis, which has been slightly blundered. There is a lowered border around the edge. The reverse is flat and plain. This type of weight would have been used by merchants at fairs, markets or shops to weigh goods. Mostly they employed the avoirdupois system, which was used from AD 1390 in England. Cast lead weight from the Medieval- Post Medieval periods. It is tear-drop shaped and the extended end has a circular cross section. There are some scratches on the surface, probably plough damage. It weighed more than 200g and so my scales could not weigh it. Generic weights such as this are difficult to date precisely when found as stray finds.

Cast lead late Medieval trade weight. It is shield shaped in plan. The reverse is flat, the front is raised with a lower border line. The border is decorated with a row of raised dots. The central section has a fleur-de-lis in relief in the bottom half. There could have been decoration above this but there has been some damage and this is now not clear.

There are stamped symbols on the front face which are At 12 o'clock, a sword, representing i St.Paul meaning it was made in London. At 3 o'clock is a crowned G, meaning it was one of the King Georges. At 6 o'clock is a coffee pot/ ewer meaning it was made by the company of founders.
