Copper alloy Roman peltate chape, dating from the 2nd-3rd centuries AD. It has been cast in one. It is complete with the front and back plate being identical. The design is peltate shape with two openwork petae on the face. The chape has been squahed slightly and so the top edges are nearly touching and one arm has a crack in.
