Part of a copper-alloy Medieval folding portable candle holder.
This is only one piece of the whole. It is the pin with a semi-circular flange. The other strip would have been slotted to fit into this flange. The flange has three slots in it, into which the mechanism can be engaged to fix the candle at different angles.
SWYOR-46F560 is a complete example on the database. Only six other examples of folding candleholders have been found on the database including LVPL-ABFE73, LIN-A11301 and NMS-1D35E4 which is the most complete.
