Copper alloy disc brooch, umbonate type, 2nd-3rd century in date.
It is circular in plan with a central raised conical section which is solid. Around this is a circle of raised dots, surrounded with a raised border, which has a channel around the edge infilled with blue enamel. Not all of the blue enamel remains, it is likely other sections would also have been enamelled but this is now missing. The edge of the brooch has a border of raised sub-triangles, with the points facing inwards. The reverse is flat. The pin and its mechanism are missing but the lugs to hold the mech…

Cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, c. 75-175 AD.
Complete except for the headloop and a small part of the catchplate.The head has a grooved line around the edge as decoration. Its width is 14.77mm. This is a spring mechanism, with 6 coils, still present, the pin appears complete and narrows to a point. The wire loops under the coils and also acts as the axis bar around which the coils are wrapped. The wire is broken at the top where it would have formed the headloop. There is also a cast strip coming from the base to hold the spring in place.

It is rectangular in plan with the terminal having a rounded extension. The terminal is solid and the two plates split from this to leave a gap for the strap to fit into. At the top there is a single circular rivet which would hold the strap end onto the strap.

Possibly related to dress fittings, it is a a sub-square loop with a small shaft at the base, this shaft is broken and would have led to the rest of the item, this is most likely the loop from an item.
