Cast copper alloy Post- Medieval buckle It is asymetrical, with one flat end, and one which is rounded with a pointed extension. It is double looped, the central bar being narrower than the rest of the frame and with small extensions on the edge of the frame.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval buckle. It is square in plan with rounded edges. It has a separate spindle (made of iron) which still has the pin and part of the plate attached. The frame is decorated all over with grooved lines. The two vertical edges having simple lines from one edge to the other. The horizontal edges having a criss cross pattern. In profile the buckle is slightly curved. This sort of buckle dates from about 1650 - 1750 AD. Buckles in a similar styles can be seen in Whitehead.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval shoe buckle, 18/19th century in date. It is rectangular in plan and double-looped, the strap bar being attached as a separate spindle in the centre. The pin is formed from a piece of sheet metal wrapped around the strap bar with a triangular point meeting the outer edge of the frame.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval buckle from c.1550-1700. Trapezoidal in plan with two projections inside the frame near the narrow end. There is a raised square on both sides in the centre of the outside edge of the frame where the pin would have sat.

Cast copper alloy Post-Medieval double loop buckle c. 1620-1700. A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy double-looped trapezoidal buckle. The buckle frame has a trapezoidal plan, a flat face and a sub-rectangular cross-section. From the centre of the symmetrical design the frame extends outwards on both sides at a 40 degree angle. The outside edges of the buckle have three extending points. On the upper and lower sides there is a small knop where the strap bar abuts the buckle frame.
