Large stone cannon ball, Post Medieval in date. It is spherical and appears to have been burnt on one side. It appears to be made from a sandstone (but I am not a geologist) and is sandy coloured on one side and black on the other (presumably from burning). Natasha Ferguson who is studying for a PhD in Battlefield Archaeology saw an image of this object and comments 'They could be as early as 15th century, but yet if lead or iron supplies were low during the English Civil War in the 17th century they would use stone occasionally.
