A medieval pin or fitting that comprises a curved pin shaft, possibly distorted, that terminates in the figure of a deer. The pin shaft has broken off. The pin or fitting is silver and dates from the fifteenth or early sixteenth century Dimensions: width 14 mm, height 12 mm. Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. J P Robinson
