Cast copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, a decade ring, dating to c.1600-1800. It is circular in plan with a projecting flat circular bezel (diameter of 10.77mm) and ten small projecting knops around the outer circumference. The bezel is decorated with the grooved letters 'IHS', with a cross on the top of the H and an arrow pointing out of the bottom of it. Decade rings were used for the rosary- to repeat the Ave and Paternoster prayers. They were introduced in the 10th century but became more popular at times of religious tension, in particular the 16th century onwards. …

Cast copper Anglo-Saxon strap end, Thomas type A1, Trewhiddle Style, dating to c. 800-1000 AD. The strap end tapers towards a zoomorphic terminal. It is almost complete with only one half of the split end missing. The half that remains has rounded corners and two circular holes, both of which have raised borders, where it would have attached to the strap. In between the two holes is a raised vertical line which separates out into two, which widen towards the end. In between these two widened ends is an upside down V. Cast copper alloy Roman bell-shaped stud. It is complete with the remains of a rectangular iron shaft at the top. The edges of the stud are worn. Lots of these bell-shaped studs were found at South Shields Roman fort (Allason-Jones and Miket, 1984).

Cast copper alloy medieval harness pendant dating to post 1376- c.1450. It has a field of blue enamel with three raised fleur-de-lys, two above and one below, (azure, three fleurs de lys or). The fleur-de-lis and the thin border have been gilded. There is an attachment loop set perpendicular to the pendant at the top, the loop is broken. Cast copper alloy buckle fragment from the Medieval period. Just less than half remains. It would have been D-shaped with a narrowed strap bar. The terminals of the buckle before the strap bar are zoomorphic heads with the strap bar coming out of the animals mouth. The animal is possibly a dog, similar to the style seen on Late Medieval ewer spouts. A similar buckle can be seen on the database recorded as NARC-B9F980

Copper alloy Medieval buckle and plate, It is mostly complete. Circular in plan with a hook extending out from one side. It has a central strap bar, consisting of a strip wrapped round both sides of the buckle. The pin is attached to the strap bar, again this consists of a strip wrapped around the strap bar. A triangular plate fits onto the plate, and extends into the other half of the buckle from the pin. It has a section cut out where the pin fits and has a circular hole at the apex of the triangle. The plate measures 15.54 x 12.49mm.

Cast copper alloy pot leg from a cauldron or skillet. Dating to the Medieval- Post Medieval period. The leg has a C-shaped cross section with four raised ridges running the length of the leg on the outside face. The leg narrows slightly towards the base from 52.17mm to 30.63mm wide. It has a slight curve and the top end has a flat, D-shaped base where the leg would have been attached to the pot.

Cast copper alloy Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch from the 6th century AD. The side and top knobs are semi-circular and hollow and have been cast integrally to the brooch. The headplate is square with a slightly raised sub-rectangular central panel which runs from the top knob to where the head meets the bow. This panel widens towards the bow. The bow is concave and has a central vertical grooved line as decoration.
