The trumpet shaped head is slightly broken and uneven, on the reverse is it hollow and the base of a hook, to hold the pin and its mechanism is still present. The bow has a circular cross section and widens at the acanthus style moulding which is a very crude version.

Object type: STRAP END
Broad period: MEDIEVAL

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Copper alloy composite Medieval strap end.
It is made up of two sub-rectangular sheets with a rounded lower terminal ending in a small rounded protrusion. The two sheets are pressed together. It has been bent almost in the middle and this has caused a crack on both sheet. On one side there are four circular holes, presumably meant as decoration, there are three in a diagonal line and the fourth is below this. On the other sheet, at the top is a small circular hole, this was probably for attachment to the strap.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Cast copper alloy ring, Medieval- Post Medieval in date.
It is sub-circular in plan and possibly penannular originally. Both terminals are narrowed to a point, these now slightly overlap.
