Iron blade, probably a knife, most likely Post Medieval in date. The knife begins to curve around half way down the blade. At this point it also narrows (from 20.46mm to 7.57mm). It seems to have a rectangular cross section. It is very corroded and so little detail can be seen on it. Iron tools such as this take a similar form over many centuries and so stray finds such as this are difficult to date precisely. Due to corrosion levels in the area it is unlikely this is pre the Post Medieval period as it would probably not have survived.

Cast copper alloy Roman button and loop fastener. Wild Class Va, dating to the late 1st- 2nd century AD. It is incomplete the loop having broken. The head is disc-shaped and has cast decoration in the form of a central dot surrounded by two concentric circles. There may have been some enamel in these recesses but no traces now remain. On the reverse of the head the bar which leads to the loop projects from the centre, then bends at 90 degrees to continue on. It widens towards the loop end. It is broken just at the point where the loop would have been, the very base of it can be…

Cast copper alloy spout from a vessel, such as a ewer, Post Medieval in date. It is sub-cylindrical with the inner surface being rounded whilst the outside is slightly angular. It has a slight curve and both ends appear broken. Near to one end there is a small sub-triangular protrusion, this could be casting waste or it could be to do with the spout, it is not clear. The alloy appears to have some lead/pewter in it from the colour and patination.

Cast copper alloy Medieval harness pendant. It is circular in plan with 6 circular lobes around the outer edge. It is raised and has a pattern cast in relief on the front. This pattern is no longer clear due to corrosion and wear. It is most likely the fields around the raised design would have been infilled with enamel. Some traces of a glassy blue remain on the lower right hand side. The attachment loop which would have extended out of the topmost lobe has broken off. The reverse is plain. The pendant is extremely corroded and the surfaces are uneven due to corrosion pro…
