Fragment of worked stone, possibly an architectural fragment or worked stone, of possible Roman date. Broken on 3 sides, fourth side seems to be intact, with a stepped, bevelled or chamfered edge. It is sub-rectangular in plan with dimensions of 90mm x74mm at its greatest and 57mm x 85mm at the smallest. It slopes up to the top and this is smaller. It has a height of 49mm.

Blue glass bead, probably Roman in date. It is circular in plan with a central circular perforation which has a diameter of 4.11mm. The bead is of even thickness all the way around. There are a few small depressions in the surface, probably due to air bubbles when the bead was made.

Blue opaque glass diamond-faceted bead of uncertain date. It is 8mm long and 5mm in diameter. It is rectangular with facetted corners at each end. There is a central cylindrical hole running the length of the bead. It is possibly Roman or Early Medieval in date but it is impossible to be certain when found as a stray find. Guido’s book on Anglo-Saxon beads (1999, 50-51) says they could be Roman but some are also found in 6th century (and later) graves.

Part of a cast copper alloy Roman belt slide. This would originally have been rectangular in plan with a rectangular attachment loop on each end. Around half now remains, one end, with one loop. The front is decorated with intergally cast decoration leaving hollows for enamel. At the end are two circular dots each with a concentric circle inside, with different coloured enamel. Copper alloy fragment of a Roman bow brooch, late 1st- 2nd century in date. It is only the head which remains and it has been damaged. It could once have been a trumpet, or maybe a headstud brooch but it is difficult to define clearly. The axis bar remains, held in an integrally cast loop at the back of the head. Cast copper alloy dragonesque brooch dating to c.75-200 AD. It is mostly complete with just the pin and one nose missing. A curvilinear egg-waisted plate with a pelta-derived appendage at each end, these are the heads. It would have been symmetrical when complete. The central section is split in half long ways, with four panels on each side, the two end ones being pointed as the body narrows. Copper alloy disc brooch, umbonate type, 2nd-3rd century in date. It is circular in plan with a central raised conical section which is solid. Around this is a circle of raised dots, surrounded with a raised border, which has a channel around the edge infilled with blue enamel. Cast copper alloy fragment of a Roman bow brooch, late 1st- 2nd century AD in date. Only the foot and lower part of the bow remains. There are remnants of the catchplate on the reverse. The bow tapers to a point towards the foot, there does not seem to be a widening for the foot. It is very worn and corroded all over, with a light green patina.

The fields would have been infilled with enamel originally but this has all been lost. The design consists of a 6 pointed star, each point has an anulet at the end, the arms are curved. In the centre is a pellet. There is a raised border around the edge of the brooch. The reverse is plain and flat with the remnants of the pin mechanism and catchplate. The pin is missing.

Cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch, it appears to be a variant of a T-shaped and headstud type, dating to the late 1st century- 2nd century. It is mostly complete. The headloop is slightly broken, it has been cast integrally to the head. The wings are square-ended with two raised vertical lines on each as decoration. The bow has three vertical ridges on the top, which run together and become two by the foot. The It is a hinged type with the axis bar being held within close wings. The pin is missing just the end point, measuring 26.82mm in length.
