Cast copper alloy part of a Roman bow brooch, 2nd century in date. It is incomplete, with the bow having broken before the foot, the headloop mostly missing and the pin broken. It is a hinged example and the top of the pin still remains, hinged on the axis bar enclosed inside the wings.

Cast copper alloy and enamel Roman plate brooch, c.150-300 AD. It is circular in plan with slightly broken edges. On the front face is a triskele motif in relief with the field around filled in with blue enamel. The reverse is plain and flat with the remnants of the catchplate and pin mechanism. Cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, c.75-175 AD. It is worn all over and incomplete. The headloop is broken, as is the pin (it was a hinged type). The head is the usual trumpet shape although it is quite thin. The bow has a circular cross section and widens towards the moulding at the waist, the moulding is a large raised curved ridge, with a smaller line above and below. The bow below the waist begins to narrow towards the foot but has broken before it reaches it.

Cast copper alloy fragment of a Roman trumpet brooch dating to c.75-175 AD. Only the head and the upper half of the bow remains, the pin and its mechanism, whether spring or hinge are missing and the bow has broken just at the central acanthus style moulding. The trumpet shaped head is slightly broken and uneven, on the reverse is it hollow and the base of a hook, to hold the pin and its mechanism is still present. The bow has a circular cross section and widens at the acanthus style moulding which is a very crude version.

The front is decorated with inlaid enamel in a triskele motif. The outline of the triskele is in raised copper alloy and there is a central circular dot in copper alloy. The inside of the triskele is infilled with red enamel. The outside field is two-thirds black and one-third blue.

Fragment from a copper alloy Roman headstud brooch, c. 75-175 AD. The wings are cylindrical, the top of the pin still remains. It is quite worn and corroded and the headstud is visible only as a raised dot at the top of the bow. The bow narrows towards the foot but is broken half way down. It is flat and is decorated on the front with two vertical lines which presumably ran the length of the bow.
