Strap fitting/ Mount Fragment of an enamelled cast copper alloy mount. This object appears to have been rectangular in plan when complete, although it may have formed part of a larger mount or fitting. The long edges of the rectangular plate have a lip projecting downwards. The object is broken along both of the shorter sides. The upper surface is decorated with inlaid enamel. Cast copper alloy fragment of a late Roman belt fitting of some sort. It is incomplete and so is difficult to tell exactly what it was part of. It has uneven broken edges on all four sides. The reverse is plain, on the front is a pattern of ring and dot motifs, seemingly running in diagonal lines, but they are not that uniform, and as only part of the piece remains it is difficult to define the exact pattern. At one end there is a slightly curved section, which projects upwards, perhaps the start of a catch or attachment loop.

It has two curved lobes at the base with circular perforations. The upper section consists of a scroll motif with the ends curling back towards the centre. At the base, there is a rectangular section with two raised transverse ribs. This narrows to where it would have met the shaft. There is some iron corrosion, suggesting the shaft was made from iron.

The shaft is broken a short way down, with most of it missing. The object now has a variable mid-green patina.

The two side knobs have been worn down. The loop itself is also worn through at one point, most likely from use. The loop has a rounded section below, which was decorated with two transverse grooves (now almost worn away) which then narrows to a rectangular sectioned, thinner terminal. This presumably would have been where it attached to the cart or chariot.

Cast copper alloy Roman rotary key handle/bow. It is an open work trilobate/ fleur-de-lis design with part of the iron shaft still remaining. The terminal has a smal rounded knop and in the angles there are small extensions. The central bar separating the two bottom lobes has broken, leaving it more like a C-shape. The handle widens from the bow, and has two transverse ridges. It then appears to be attached to the iron shaft, broken almost immediately afterwards.

Below the ribs are two rounded bead-like sections which would have led into the key. This is where it has broken. The terminal of the fleur-de-lis section has a rounded knop.

Copper alloy Roman disc brooch, 2nd- 3rd century in date. It is circular in plan with decoration in relief on the front. The fields would have been infilled with enamel originally but this has all been lost. The design consists of a 6 pointed star, each point has an anulet at the end, the arms are curved. In the centre is a pellet. There is a raised border around the edge of the brooch. The reverse is plain and flat with the remnants of the pin mechanism and catchplate. The pin is missing.

Cast copper alloy dragonesque brooch dating to c.75-200 AD. It is mostly complete with just the pin and one nose missing. A curvilinear egg-waisted plate with a pelta-derived appendage at each end, these are the heads. It would have been symmetrical when complete. The central section is split in half long ways, with four panels on each side, the two end ones being pointed as the body narrows. Its edges are slightly broken but other than that it is complete. It is decorated on the front with a raised triskele motif which was cast integrally. In the centre and at the end of each arm there is a circular dot as extra decoration. The strap slide has a rectangular loop on the reverse to fix it onto the strap.

Cast copper alloy Roman vessel mount in the form of a human head, possibly representing Cupid, 1st- 3rd century in date. It is domed and hollow on the reverse. The mount has a small broken loop on the top of the head, the front part of which has been decorated to form part of the hair-style. The loop would have been linked to the mounts use, possibly allowing a handle to be suspended from it. Cast copper alloy Roman plate brooch in the form of a horse, from the late 2nd-3rd centuries AD. It is a horse walking and facing right. The decoration appears to have been cast with the making of the brooch. The reverse is flat and has no decoration. The head has a groove for the mouth and a circular hollow to indicate the eye. The ear extends from the top of the head and has a pointed oval hollow. Immediately behind teh ear the mane begins and hair is picked out with grooved lines. Part of a cast copper alloy Roman belt slide. This would originally have been rectangular in plan with a rectangular attachment loop on each end. Around half now remains, one end, with one loop. The front is decorated with intergally cast decoration leaving hollows for enamel. At the end are two circular dots each with a concentric circle inside, with different coloured enamel. Next, in the middle is a triangular hole. The slide is then broken, unevenly and the other half is missing. Cast copper alloy Roman fantail brooch, dating t o c.150-250 AD. It is bent slightly out of shape with the head bent further over than it should be. The head is triangular with the wings having rounded ends. The headloop is broken with only the base of each side remaining.
