Copper alloy ring, probably a finger ring, Roman in date. It is formed by a thick, circular cross-sectioned copper aloly wire being curled round into two rows with slightly rounded terminals. Both terminals also have cross-hatched decoration, similar to the more delicate copper and silver Roman snake finger rings. Although this seems very large for a finge ring, there are some similar examples on the PAS database. Cast copper alloy Early Roman button and loop fastener. Tear-drop headed, dating to c. 50 -150 AD (according to Wild's typology, 1970). It is a slightly unusual type with a solid foot rather than a loop. The head is tear-drop shaped with a raised circular boss in the widest section. This appears to have enamel on originally and some traces of red (?) remain but the pattern is unclear. Copper alloy head of a Roman trumpet brooch, dating to c. 75- 175 AD. It is a large, and slightly unusual variety and unfortunately is quite corroded. It is a sprung type, with huge coils, four complete and two which are broken. The wire then threads through the coils. The central broken coil would have extended to the pin but that is now gone. Cast lead possible Roman weight. It is cylindrical, with a central iron core, which would have become a loop, but has now broken. Roman steelyward weights are usually biconical, not cylindrical but this example does have the iron core like the Roman ones, so it is possible it is Roman rather than Post Medieval.

Cast copper alloy headstud brooch, dating to c. 75- 175 AD. It is mostly complete, with just the pin missing. The headloop was cast integrally with the brooch, and is complete, but bent. It sits straight onto the head, which has two square wings with three vertical grooves on each side. On the back of the head is a semi-circular casing which held the axis bar. The headloop has broken off, leaving just the base which is set on two steps, the upper one being decorated with a line of vertical grooved lines. Copper alloy fragment of a Roman bow brooch, late 1st- 2nd century in date. It is only the head which remains and it has been damaged. It could once have been a trumpet, or maybe a headstud brooch but it is difficult to define clearly. The axis bar remains, held in an integrally cast loop at the back of the head.
