Strap fitting/ Mount Fragment of an enamelled cast copper alloy mount. This object appears to have been rectangular in plan when complete, although it may have formed part of a larger mount or fitting. The long edges of the rectangular plate have a lip projecting downwards. The object is broken along both of the shorter sides. The upper surface is decorated with inlaid enamel. This is laid out in a symmetrical herringbone pattern, on either side of a central dividing line. Traces of enamel remain. Copper alloy rectangular bar with triangular enamel panels, probably Roman in date. It is rectangular in plan and in cross-section. The upper face is split into triangular panels by a central zig-zag line. These panels are infilled with enamel, the upper line being red, the lower being blue. There are four blue triangles and the red, the last upper triangle having lost its enamel. The mount is then broken. The reverse of the item is plain and flat. Cast copper alloy Roman vessel mount in the form of a human head, possibly representing Cupid, 1st- 3rd century in date. It is domed and hollow on the reverse. The mount has a small broken loop on the top of the head, the front part of which has been decorated to form part of the hair-style. The loop would have been linked to the mounts use, possibly allowing a handle to be suspended from it. Cast copper alloy Iron Age/ Roman mount or fitting. On the left are two circular concave discs, one above the other, touching. From the space in between the two discs, on the right-hand side, is an openwork teardrop shape, lying vertically. At the rounded end is another circular concave disc, this one is slightly larger than the other two. These discs could have been filled with enamel or other decorative material but none now remains. Copper alloy mis-cast Roman lion head mount. It is sub-circular in plan with a protrusion at the base. The reverse is flat and has a pitted uneven surface. The front is the face of the lion is relief and this detail has been affected by the mis-cast. The top protrusion is the nose and the lower is meant to be the mouth. The detail for the mane and eyes has been lost in wear, corrosion and the incomplete casting.
