Fragment of a copper alloy Roman headstud brooch, dating to c. 75- 175 AD. Only the top of the bow and part of the head remains. The headloop has broken off, leaving just the base which is set on two steps, the upper one being decorated with a line of vertical grooved lines. Cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, c.75-175 AD. It is worn all over and incomplete. The headloop is broken, as is the pin (it was a hinged type). The head is the usual trumpet shape although it is quite thin. The bow has a circular cross section and widens towards the moulding at the waist, the moulding is a large raised curved ridge, with a smaller line above and below. The bow below the waist begins to narrow towards the foot but has broken before it reaches it.
