Cast copper alloy dolphin type bow brooch dating from c.75-175 AD. It is a sprung type but the spring and pin are now missing. The catchplate has also broken. The bow is plain and tapers to a point at the foot. The brooch has corroded to a light green colour.

Cast copper alloy stud which is decorated with enamel, Roman in date. It is circular in plan and 3.23mm thick. It has recesses on the front face for the enamel. The design is a central four petalled flower with a border on the edge of the stud. The flower has white petals. The field around the flower is empty although it could have held enamel. The border appears to have been made of alternating squares of enamel all the way around, most of the red still remains, the other colour could be blue although very little is visible. Fragment of a copper alloy Roman dragonesque brooch. It is incomplete, one head has broken off, leaving the body and one head. It has enamelled recessed panels on the front and is flat on the back. The design on the body consists of a central circle which has a cross inside with a lozenge shape at the centre of the cross. The area on each side of the circle is split into three triangles. Incomplete cast copper alloy late Roman amphora shaped strap end dating from the late 4th century AD. The body is sub-oval with a knop with a moulded collar at the terminal. It is decorated with ring and dot motifs on both sides on the main body. One side has a single motif in the centre. The other side has nine motifs laid out in three parallel rows. The strap end has broken just as the main body ends and the top edge appears scalloped. This would have led into two openwork circles which would represent handles.

Cast copper alloy Roman strap slide. It is rectangular in plan and is incomplete with both long edges being broken and uneven. The front face is enamelled with a central line of 4 lozenges filled with yellow enamel. On either side of these lozenges are triangles filled with red enamel and on the outside of these is a row of larger blue triangles. The edges are then broken but it appears that there is a further row of red triangular cells on the outside edge. The reverse is plain and has a rectangular loop which is placed just off-centre.

Cast copper alloy strap fastener from the Roman period, dating to the 1st century AD. A circular hoop with a stud fixed to one side at the base. On the other side of the loop at the same point is a small rectangular loop. The stud is decorated with three concentric loops, the central and outer one are gilded. The fastener has a mostly light green patina with some brown patches, all due to corrosion.

Cast copper alloy Roman button and loop fastener. Wild Class III, tear drop shaped head, dating to c.50-150 AD. The loop is set on the reverse of the head. This is a slightly unusual type as the loop is also shaped as a teardrpo with a raised central circle. The head is larger than the loop and has a semi-circular hole before the pointed end. The patina is a mix of brown and green patches.

Blue opaque glass diamond-faceted bead of uncertain date. It is 8mm long and 5mm in diameter. It is rectangular with facetted corners at each end. There is a central cylindrical hole running the length of the bead. It is possibly Roman or Early Medieval in date but it is impossible to be certain when found as a stray find. Guido’s book on Anglo-Saxon beads (1999, 50-51) says they could be Roman but some are also found in 6th century (and later) graves.

11 pieces of Roman grey ware. Most are body sherds. The sherds can be grouped to represent possibly 7 individual pots. A pot sherd of fine grained Buff/pale grey fabric with a wall thickness of 5mm turning at a basal angle of approximately 45 degrees to a base 10mm thick.
