Cast copper alloy Early medieval stirrup strap mount. Williams Class B, Type 3, Group 9, dating to the 11th century.
The mount is sub-triangular in plan, with a circular extension at the apex. This would originally have had a circular hole in the centre through which a rivet would have gone to secure the mount. The remains of the rivet appear to have corroded onto this and so the loop appears solid. It has raised decoration on the front and is plain on the reverse.
