Cast copper alloy Early Medieval buckle dating to c. 900- 1100 AD. It is D-shaped in plan with a narrowed strap bar. The strap-end has a dark brown surface, with reddish-brown adhesions (particularly in the recesses), probably gained from its time in the ground. Thomas class E, Type 1 (2004, p. 1-2).
