Tokens such as this could have been used for a variety of purposes, gaming, counting, weighing etc and were used for a long period.

Lead Post Medieval token, 17-18th century in date. It is circular in plan with decoration in relief on both faces. One face has an anchor, the other appears to be a representation of a palm leaf with a central vertical line, and multiple lines coming off at both sides, facing upwards. Tokens such as this could have been used for a variety of purposes, gaming, counting, weighing etc and were used for a long period.

Lead Medieval- Post Medieval token. It is sub-circular in plan, having a serrated edge all the way around. The front has been decorated with an 8-pointed star, with lines radiating from the centre to each point, it has been engraved/scratched onto the surface. The reverse is plain. There are hundreds of different designs of lead tokens and they were used for a long period of time for various purposes such as gaming, weighing etc. As stray finds they are very difficult to date precisely.

Two copper alloy Post Medieval tokens. They are both circular in plan. The larger one weighs 5g and has a diameter of 15.97mm and a thickness of 4.35mm. It has the remains of a design on one face but it is not clear what it was. The smaller one weighs 3g and has a diameter of 12.93mm and a thickness of 3.48mm. This is even more worn and corroded and so no detail can be seen.
