Cast copper alloy fragment of a Post Medieval drawer handle. It has a strip of copper alloy folded over through the top loop, presumably to attach the fitting to the drawer. The main body has a rectangular attachment loop with protruding corners and a raised lower line. It then narrows to a neck, before widening into what would have been a sub-rectangular body with leaf/floriate design on the front. This has broken only a short way down.

Cast copper alloy fragment of a ramrod terminal pipe from a Post Medieval musket, pistol or other gun. It consists of a hollow cylindrical tube, underneath which is a projecting rectangular panel which is apparently solid (normally they are pierced). This would have attached the ramrod holder to the wooden base or stock beneath the gun's barrel. The cylindrical tube opens out to a sub-triangular area, the tip of which curves up slightly; this would have been attached to the curve of the stock in front of the trigger. There is a small moulded lip between the cylinder and the termina…

Heavy gold signet ring, finely engraved with a coat of arms, oriented vertically, within a dotted border. Images of the signet ring were examined by Dr Clive Cheesman, College of Arms, who has provided the following information: 'The ring shows the coat of arms of a family called Prestwich. The coat of arms consists of a shield and, displayed on top of a helmet, a crest. The shield is quartered, the first and fourth quarters showing a design consisting of a mermaid, reputedly granted in the mid-16th century to a family called Prestwich of Hulme, Manchester. We do not unfortunately…
