This takes the form of lines radiating from the central hole splitting the face into sections. In these sections are raised dots, between 3 and 5 depending on the section.

Circular lead weight from the Post Medieval period. It is circular in plan and flat. It has a central circular hole and then four circular holes around it, forming an X-shape if they were joined up. On the front the central hole had a groved circle around it which cuts through the four outer circles. In between each of the outer circles are two short grooved lines, radiating from the centre, forming a cross. On the reverse there are some traces of these lines but not to the same degree as on the front.

Where it meets the loop is a small collar. The bit appears to be solid and is made up of two sub-rectangular sections, similar but with the end one being bigger. They both have an extended collar near the base, with a sub-square section taken out of the top and one taken out of each side.

Cast copper alloy Early Medieval strap end, 10-11th century in date. Tongue shaped, with an incomplete attachment end. The attachment has broken on one of the two loops, this end is thinner than the rest of the plate. The plate is decorated on one side with a degenerate Winchester style motif formed of a series of reserved cells creating a symmetrical plant scroll motif. The strap-end has a dark brown surface, with reddish-brown adhesions (particularly in the recesses), probably gained from its time in the ground. Thomas class E, Type 1 (2004, p. 1-2).

An incomplete copper-alloy bell of Early-Medieval date. Most of the bell chamber survives with just the bottom edges being uneven due to breaks. It is faceted and tapers towards the top, where there should be a loop but this is now missing. The artefact is heavily corroded. A similar bell was found at Meols, Cheshire (Griffiths et al 2007: 69/pl. 75, no. 390). They are increasingly thought to be characteristic of the Danelaw in the 10th century (for further discussion, see Griffiths et al 69-70).

Cast copper alloy late Iron Age- early Roman terret ring. It is a plain type with a rectangular ring at the top for straps to run through. The hoop narrows towards the bottom and is broken although it appears complete with the two ends touching. The hoop is circular in cross section. It has an uneven patina, mianly brown with green patches where the surface has corroded.

Copper alloy dress hook dating from the 16-17th centuries. It consists of a central circular body which is domed and hollow on the reverse. The front is decorated in relief with a rose. At the top of the main body would have been a rectangular loop. This is mostly missing with just the base of the two arms visible. From the bottom of the main body a thin hook protrudes, this would have curved back on itself but has broken before it curves.

Copper alloy foot of an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch dating from the 5-6th centuries. Only the foot remains, having broken just aboe the horse-head terminal. The broken end is uneven and has the half-round panel at the top. The eyes are raised circles inside hollows on each side below this panel. Next there are two grooved lines running the length of the terminal which widen at the bottom to mark the spatulate extension. On either side are the nostrils which are circular, with spiral decoration.

Fragment of a Medieval buckle frame. Only the outer edge remains, the thickened outer edge which has 3 linear grooves for decoration.The stumps of the frame remain protruding from the edge.

Fragment from a copper alloy Roman headstud brooch, c. 75-175 AD. The wings are cylindrical, the top of the pin still remains. It is quite worn and corroded and the headstud is visible only as a raised dot at the top of the bow. The bow narrows towards the foot but is broken half way down. It is flat and is decorated on the front with two vertical lines which presumably ran the length of the bow.

Small piece of sheet metal with raised decoration on one side of unknown date. It is sub-rectangular in plan and appears to be broken on 3 sides. The top edge appears complete and it is possible this is a rim. There is raised decoration in the form of a horizontal line around half way up the item and above that some further pattern in a linear layout. This could be a decorative fragment from furniture, dress accessory or other item such as a book clasp but so little remains it is difficult to tell. From the patina its date is likely to be Medieval- Post Medieval.

Two copper alloy Post Medieval tokens. They are both circular in plan. The larger one weighs 5g and has a diameter of 15.97mm and a thickness of 4.35mm. It has the remains of a design on one face but it is not clear what it was. The smaller one weighs 3g and has a diameter of 12.93mm and a thickness of 3.48mm. This is even more worn and corroded and so no detail can be seen.

A cast copper alloy Post Medieval purse bar. The central box is rectangular and plain, and the arms are circular in profile. The central box is filled with iron corrosion. The terminals are globular with a median ridge and a slightly pointed terminal. A similar item can also be found on the database SUR-2C1BC6. It is likely this dates to the 15th/16th century AD.

Cast copper alloy late Medieval macehead. It consists of a cast, hollow cylinder of copper alloy, with three rows, each of four pyramid-shaped spikes at the top of the mace. Each of the rows is offset 90 degrees from the adjacent row. As is usual for these maceheads, the upper and lower rows are of half-pyramid-shaped spikes, while those on the central row are of full pyramid shape. Copper alloy key from the Medieval period. It is constructed from a folded sheet. It has a sub-square loop at the end with a circular perforation. The shaft is circular in cross-section and hollow. The bit is simple with just a square taken out from near to the shaft. Below the bit the shaft continues just as a solid cylindrical point much narrower than the shaft.

The hoop is rectangular in cross-section and the same width/thickness all the way round. On the outer face are vertical lines splitting the hoop into sections all around. In every other section there is a raised symbol or decoration.

Cast copper alloy miniature terret ring from the Roman period. It is D-shaped in section with the reverse being flat and the front slightly domed. It is sub-circular in plan, measuring 19.02mm by 20.89mm in diameter, with the ring widening at the top then narrowing again towards the bottom. At the base is a small sub-triangular moulding which is raised on both front and reverse with a central groove.
