Fragment from a copper alloy Roman headstud brooch, c. 75-175 AD. The wings are cylindrical, the top of the pin still remains. It is quite worn and corroded and the headstud is visible only as a raised dot at the top of the bow. The bow narrows towards the foot but is broken half way down. It is flat and is decorated on the front with two vertical lines which presumably ran the length of the bow.

Part of a copper-alloy Medieval folding portable candle holder. This is only one piece of the whole. It is the pin with a semi-circular flange. The other strip would have been slotted to fit into this flange. The flange has three slots in it, into which the mechanism can be engaged to fix the candle at different angles. SWYOR-46F560 is a complete example on the database. Only six other examples of folding candleholders have been found on the database including LVPL-ABFE73, LIN-A11301 and NMS-1D35E4 which is the most complete. Examples can also be seen …

Cast copper alloy and enamel complete Roman seal box. It is complete with both the lid and the base. The pin holding the two together has been lost so they can separate. It is a circular example with the upper face of the lid decorated with enamel. This consists of a central circle of red and the outer section in blue. The circular tab also has red enamel. Underneath this tab has a small knop which which fits into the bottom section as a catch. The base has a tab with a small hollow into which the knop from the upper tab sits. Late Medieval handle from a ceramic jug. It is broken at both ends and its still muddy so the fabric is difficult to see. It appears to be a cream-ish colour. It has a green glaze which varies in shade over the surface. It has two ridges running its length.

Copper alloy dress hook dating from the 16-17th centuries. It consists of a central circular body which is domed and hollow on the reverse. The front is decorated in relief with a rose. At the top of the main body would have been a rectangular loop. This is mostly missing with just the base of the two arms visible. From the bottom of the main body a thin hook protrudes, this would have curved back on itself but has broken before it curves.
