Small fragments of copper alloy sheet. The majority are amorphous in form, with torn or broken edges. A few are narrow strips, or show defined edges or raised ribs suggesting they may have formed the edge of a mount or rim of a vessel. One such piece is pierced for attachment. Two of the largest fragments (DUR-D04E32, and part of DUR-CF8AF8 Part D) are made up of several fused pieces of sheet which appear to have been folded and partially melted together, and in one case sliced along one edge.

Small irregular, amorphous fragments of copper alloy casting waste.
Part B (one fragment: length 22.0mm; weight: 3.8g) Five metal fragments showing traces of both copper alloy and iron corrosion. Possibly fragments of iron chain mail preserved alongside traces of copper alloy fittings, or corroded remains of other composite objects. Measurements: Total weight: 52g
Part C
Small fragment of copper alloy sheet, curved in profile and sub-triangular in plan. This piece has one original edge, perhaps forming part of the rim of a vessel. Along this edge are affixed two protruding lumps, possibly decorative.
Measurements: Length: 24.9mm; width: 12.9; thickness (rim): 2.1mm; weight: 3.1g

Two amorphous droplets of copper alloy waste, silvery in colour.
Measurements: Max length: 15.5mm; weights: 4.8g and 3.4g (total 8.2g)
Metallurgy: XRF analysis of the surface of these objects confirmed that they are composed of high-tin copper alloys (around 30% tin), with traces of zinc. Both also contained low levels of gold and silver. In the case of the smaller droplet, the gold content was higher, at around 10%.Emma Traherne17Richmond AreaDUR-D186564739111ROMANWASTERestricted Accessfinds-473911116DUR-D18353Fragmentx41218images/frances/1432283PAS4ECD183500164D42011-11-23T15:58:45ZCertainx1399221IRON AGECopper alloy41430IA2Circa16http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/IRON AGECertainSilverCivil Parish2022-07-14T07:10:21.037ZCounty Durham100Unitary AuthorityCastMODERN1Other chance find85 DUR-C0E1A0.jpg436072008From a paper map11PM

Lead sheet, probably of Post-Medieval date.
It is irregular in shape with some edges cut and some pieces folded back on themselves. It appears to be a piece of waste lead, possibly miscast sheet.
