Cast copper alloy scabbard chape, 12th century in date. The artefact is of thick sheet construction. Having been folded over on itself, it forms a trapezoidal shaped base section. It has 2 arms, meaning it plan it is U shaped. The base section is decorated on one face The arms, rectangular in plan, terminate in a lozenge. The terminals are perforated centrally and attached to each other by an extant rivet. The arms are decorated on one face with incised diagonal lines, running horizontally, along the whole length.

Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate gold content for the strip of 92-94%, with a silver content of 5-6%, the remainder being copper; it weighs 1.57 grams. The find consists of a length of narrow gold strip of triangular section with punched decoration of apex-to-apex triangles along the top ridge; it is broken at both ends; length, 32.5 mm. Gilded copper alloy chain mail armour hook, broken into two pieces. When complete, this would have been an S-shaped object in plan, with circular terminals, one of a pair which together would have formed a hinged lyre-shaped fitting (see M.120). Boar figurine fragment Cast copper alloy fragment in the shape of a boar's head with an incised line perhaps representing the mouth and moulding along the upper ridge a spined crest. Probably part of a hollow cast copper alloy boar figurine. The surface is pitted and corroded. It is possible that this was an unfinished or mis-cast object.
